A former high-school star in Houston, Magic forward Rashard Lewis always wanted to play for the Rockets, but he says the club missed several chances during the 1998 NBA Draft.

Lewis came out of Alief Elsik High in the Houston area and declared for the draft, but wasn’t taken until the 32nd pick of the second round by the Seattle SuperSonics. The Rockets had three first-round picks and a second-rounder, but elected to use none on Lewis, who can still name the four players the Rockets selected.

“I was disappointed when they had a chance to draft me and didn’t,” Lewis said.
