Richard Jefferson heard all the criticism during his injury-riddled 2006-07 season. He not only heard people question his hustle and his heart, but he felt it. Now, finally healthy and happy again, Jefferson has been the Nets’ best player so far. “I’m just happy to be out there and enjoying it,” Jefferson said. “Last year was a tough year for everyone.”Jefferson has been one of the best at any position coming into tonight’s game against Atlanta. He’s fifth in the league at 26.0 points per game, is shooting 51.1 percent and is a perfect 25-for-25 from the free-throw line.

“He’s been playing phenomenal. He’s definitely our offensive leader right now,” Carter said about his teammate.
