Despite winning an important game against Charlotte Bobcats the day was not a great one for Atlanta. The Hawks lost two starters during a three-minute stretch of the third quarter in which saw forward Josh Smith left for the locker room with a strained left quadriceps with 9:02 to play.Rookie guard Acie Law IV followed two minutes later with a sprained left ankle, suffered when two Bobcats players fell on him as he was fouled on a drive to the basket.Neither player returned, and their availability for Friday night’s home game against Seattle probably won’t be known until game time.

“I tweaked something, but I’ll bounce back quick like I always do,” Smith said afterward.

The game ended 117 -109 for the Hawks who are now 3-4.
